The Arts – A New Perspective
Together and individually the Arts (visual arts and crafts, design disciplines, music, performing arts and writing arts) culture the most refined and elevating qualities in individual and collective life. The Arts are cherished because they illuminate our inner lives, enriching us emotionally and spiritually. They inspire cultural integration, health and social well-being and play a profound role in education, national pride, and the economy. Yet, a pervading lack of awareness at all levels of scale, from the individual to national and global has left the Arts significantly deflated, under-supported and ill-recognised, despite their immense value to human life.
Fortunately, it is possible now in this scientific age for the Arts to emerge from the darkness of the past into the sunlight of a bright new day. The solution is not found on the level of information as many leaders of Arts have tried in vain. Approaches of political influence and persuasion alone will always be subject to the shifting sands of incoherence in collective consciousness which is mirrored by the actions of those that govern. The Academy of Arts for Enlightenment presents a new perspective on the Arts, from the invincible level of Natural Law, through Maharishi Vedic Science.
Understanding Through Synthesis and Analysis
Information theory informs us that knowledge has organizing power – total knowledge has infinite organizing power. The graphic below presents all streams of the Arts converging through the process of synthesis in their transcendental source, the unified field of all the laws of nature. From here, they diverge, through the process of analysis, in a sequential manner to the specific Arts disciplines again.
Each discipline is thus understood and experienced with reference to its foundation, the field of Total Knowledge, the Unified Field of all the laws of Nature, which is the Self (Atma) of everyone.

Total Knowledge Is Unfolded In Awareness
The uniqueness of the Academy of Arts for Enlightenment is in its representation of all Arts (disciplines and genres) together, in one inter-connected value of wholeness of creative expression. The Academy further demonstrates the common source of all Arts disciplines and genres in the field of Total Knowledge, at the transcendental level of all life, self-referral consciousness.
This system of education is expressed in Vedic terminology as:
‘Anvaya vyatirekabhyam nishprapancham prapanchyate’
‘Through analysis and synthesis Total Knowledge is unfolded (in one single awareness).’
The principle of study through analysis and synthesis unfolds the same field of Total Knowledge in all streams of the Arts. This fulfills the goals of the Academy to impart Total Knowledge to its students whilst they study their chosen discipline. In this way, students of the Arts become knowers of Total Knowledge, capable of handling any action successfully.
The infinite creative potential of the artist, craftsman, designer, musician, performer, writer and poet is simultaneously unfolded in a natural way by accessing Total Knowledge on the level of direct experience through the Transcendental Meditation technique. The consciousness of the Artist rises in tune with Natural Law, leading to the fully integrated state of enlightenment.
The Quest of the Arts Fulfilled
Grateful appreciation to Maharishi for his compassionate gift of reviving Vedic Science in its purity and completeness, which has given rise to the Academy of Arts for Enlightenment. With this knowledge, the Arts will rise up to fulfil their paramount role in society, as a force for enlightenment, unity, harmony and peace. Only on the basis of Total Knowledge can the Arts and Culture fulfil their sublime purpose, individually and collectively, and create heaven on earth.
Appreciation also to Dr. Tony Nader, MD, PhD, MARR, international head of the world-wide Transcendental Meditation teaching organizations, whose inspiration is central to the founding of the Academy of Arts for Enlightenment. Under Maharishi’s guidance, Dr. Nader has undertaken landmark research on Human Physiology – the Expression of Veda and Vedic Literature.
